ALLAN TRICKEY
Expression of the One

Allan TrickeyBorn in Montreal in 1959, Allan was raised in the Christian faith as an Anglican. He attended church and Sunday school with his family every week, certain religious events throughout the year, cubs, scouts and even sang in the choir. While he sensed "something powerful" during the 8am service each Sunday, he never felt able to connect the feeling to the message heard, which though ominous, was routine. Like many other English people from Quebec, Allan's family left for Ontario during the 1970's (twice). After 4 different high schools and a many years of calculated risk-taking experimentation with life (most often mischievous, much to the frequent chagrin of his parents) Allan entered a music program at York University in Toronto with mediocre enthusiasm. Luckily, a year earlier he had landed a job working part time at a local radio station. Ultimately radio won out. Allan switched gears, joined CHUM in Toronto (Canada's first rock & roll radio station) and spent the next 8 years at the top of his creative game in the rock & roll industry that was experiencing its final years of being fun before becoming homogenized in the mid 1980's. Virtually everyday was a religious experience, but there wasn't a church in sight. Then people stopped listening to CHUM and the station downsized. Within days of being laid off (which felt more like being ostracized from "the family"), Allan's most profound spiritual experience began.

After a week of bizarre dreams, Allan's sister (now author) Carolyn, started him down his road of self-discovery - beginning with Edgar Cayce on Atlantis. That reading led to the rest of the Cayce material, books on meditation, crystals, lucid dreaming, echankar, aliens, Gaia, Egyptian history, world mythologies and the incredible Fritjof Capra and his Tao of Physics. Ironically, 3 months later, Allan was rehired and moved to Winnipeg to build boring radio there too. But it was a job. He married in Winnipeg and had a daughter Jessica. During the late '80's, he began to learn how self-serving and ruthless the politics of business can be and he switched gears to build a Human Resources presence within the company - eventually completing HR accreditation in night school at the University of Manitoba. His path of self-discovery now included the firewalk, skydiving, playing in a garage band, studying the recently published Dead Sea Scrolls, developing and facilitating training programs and eventually, parenting.

In 1997, Allan was offered a Director of Research/Facilitator position with a consulting firm in the United States. So, he loaded up the truck and moved his family south. Working with organizations like Siemens, Sony, American Airlines, The Federal Home Loan Banking system etc., Allan learned much about himself and how the world around him works as he developed, administered and facilitated cultural and behavioral research instruments in many different industries. With colleagues who were family systems therapists, psychologists and physicists, Allan quickly became a student of systems theory and practitioner of servant leadership. After several years in the U.S. and a marital separation, Allan relocated to Toronto and began inhaling any information he could find relating to spirituality. While wandering the street at 4am one morning early in 2001, he realized that his peaked frustration with organized religion was only going to be solved by offering the alternative that made sense of the world -- The Law of One, which 2 years later led him to Brian Sanchez and the Law of One Society. All is one.
