In Awareness There is Hope

Although we are not supposed to see the war dead and wounded by those that control the images in this country. We can easily view the horror of war with a few clicks of the mouse. A quick internet search will bring up the pictures of death and destruction; the children with half of their heads blown off and their gray brains hanging out; the piles of dead or tortured; the crying family members; and the bombed out homes and lives. This is our war and it needs to be seen for what it is.

We must understand that we are paying for all of this death and misery. Not only are we are paying for it with our tax dollars, but more importantly we are paying for it with our humanity. We have become something worse than criminal. We have allowed ourselves to become depraved while being manipulated by the depraved. The Military Industrial Complex has conditioned us to believe that the fulfillment of our existence is found in purchasing consumer products. At the same time, we are supposed to accept wars for global empire as necessary to support this "way of life." But this "way" offers nothing but misery. Not only for those that suffer from our wars and are enslaved by our system of consumerism, but for us as well. Our system is not only in the process of destroying those around the world but it has nearly destroyed us. It has made us numb from greed and ignorance to the beauty of life and the wonders of being. We are now diseased and sickly and we are spreading this sickness to the world, like a plague that must first destroy its host before it destroys itself.

Presently, we are merely seeing the fruit of our sickness played out on the world. We need to open our eyes and see what we have brought to others and the life we have allowed for ourselves. The viewing is painful but the awareness may spark a bit of humanity in us. In Awareness there is hope.
