Light to the World

Generally, people who support evil do not consciously know that they are supporting evil. Rather, they need to be made to believe they are supporting something that will ultimately make the world a better place. The Germans in Nazi Germany were rallying around a better world, although that world looks sick by our standards.

Grand scale evil is something groups of people usually don't have the vision or interest in unless they are given a direction for it. This takes a massive effort by those skilled in the psychological conditioning known as propaganda. By nature, humans work in packs and they feel comfortable in supporting the pack. Seldom do they consider the larger questions, and do not see themselves as part of something larger than their group. So, it is easy to exploit these group feelings especially when people are not prone to thinking. It is a great responsibility of the leadership to give that mutual feeling for the group a direction and a vision that benefits all of humanity and all of life. This shared feeling that we all have could easily be channeled into a force for a mutually beneficial world; but that doesn't serve our present power structure. Instead, the military industrial complex uses that mutual group feeling called nationalism to promote empire and colonialization.

The interesting part of what we are seeing today is how so called "normal god fearing" people can be programmed to participate in and allow such evil. But our task and our responsibility is to promote another vision that works for and benefits all of life. This is an ongoing work, and even a little awareness of a better way brings peace and comfort. We who are aware of our responsibility to life must continue. Also, know that even a little progress on this path is better than the darkest alternative. The world depends on us to continue our efforts.
